Grad Peak Program PDF Print E-mail

The Graduate Peak Leadership Program is designed for college students and recent graduates. Its singular focus is transformational leadership development. It is a nine-month, assessment-rich and academically-strong experience complemented by mentoring relationships and professional life-coaching in individual and group settings. The program includes 18 semester credits at a graduate level with a focus on Christian worldview, and requires a 20-hour-per-week internship experience. The Peak experience offers students a special opportunity to discover and understand their strengths, weaknesses and relational and communication styles, how they can best utilize their God-given abilities, what roles they are best suited for, and in what settings they are most likely to flourish.

Based upon biblical principles and informed by the best and most recent research, the Peak program distinguishes influence in interpersonal and team contexts from leadership in corporate settings, and helps students understand the different dynamics of these social contexts. It offers students the opportunity to develop and hone their interpersonal skills, and helps them move from their current effectiveness toward their full potential. Finally, it helps students choose and prepare for roles that fulfill God's calling in their lives and their place in his plans.

Features include:

  • Residential life in a vibrant Christian community housed in former Greek houses adjacent to the University of Colorado campus.
  • Eighteen semester credits in Christian Studies  designed to help you explore and craft a Christian worldview.
  • Time with Rivendell staff and other Christian leaders in the community in interactive teaching/learning settings, including optional courses and seminars on topics such as Christian courtship, Christian marriage, Christian family, the disciplines and dynamics of spiritual growth, mentoring relationships, sharing your faith, leadership skills, conflict resolution, interpersonal communication, spiritual gifts, time stewardship, and financial stewardship.
  • Personality, motivational and behavioral assessments, resulting in a personal profile that will help you understand who you are as the workmanship of God. This profile will also serve as a basis for charting a leadership development plan uniquely suited to you, and will provide measurement for personal and spiritual growth over the course of the program.
  • One-on-one and small group training with a certified life coach designed to help you focus, clarify, prioritize, and accomplish goals in a number of areas, including your life purpose, career direction, discovering and honoring core values, brainstorming options and possibilities, strategizing, growth, productivity, and transitioning through change. Coaching includes identifying plans of action, making practical adjustments, and moving forward in the completion of personal assignments.
  • A twenty-hour per week practical ministry experience with Rivendell or a local church or para-church ministry.

Because of the demanding nature of this program, Peak students are not allowed to hold jobs apart from a ministry internship, and must verify financial resources sufficient to cover expenses. All Peak students are also required to verify current health insurance, or purchase student health
