Rivendell's onsite programs are located at Affiliate Study Centers strategically located next to major university campuses. In addition to the Center in Boulder, which has now become the central campus and headquarters of Rivendell College, current Affiliate Centers are located in Fort Collins and Greeley, Colorado, with residential facilities adjacent to Colorado State University. Our aspiration is to have these local sites with Rivendell's slate of academic programs adjacent to university campuses across the United States and abroad.
Affiliate Study Centers represent a strategic partnership between Rivendell College and its parent organization, Centers for Christian Study International (CCSI). The mission of CCSI is "to establish, maintain and support Christian Study Centers adjacent to universities in the United States and abroad for the purpose of engaging the university community in serious thinking and discussion of the Christian worldview and all of its implications for life and thought." CCSI does this by bringing the resources of Christian scholarship and Christian community to students at secular universities, and brings them together uniquely in residential Study Centers.
Christian Scholarship. Affiliate Study Centers serve as local sites for Rivendell College, and offer all academic programs available through eRivendell. This model allows students to take courses at a local Study Center, or online, or enjoy the best of both worlds by choosing online and onsite options. Whether students attend class online or onsite, they have access to the full support services of Rivendell College, with its central administration in Boulder. Study Centers also offer lectures, conferences, and discussion groups on important issues of rationality and faith.
Christian Community. Not only can students enjoy and be enriched by scholarly Christian perspectives, they can do so in the safe, healthy environment of Christian community as an alternative to what is so often found in dormitories, Greek houses and off-campus apartment life. Fraternities and sororities are closing their doors across the country, victims of their own high-risk behavior. CCSI is committed to acquiring Greek houses adjacent to university campuses to accommodate Study Center offices, libraries and classrooms, and to form residential learning communities.
